Kmart #4354 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 6701 University Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.[1] The store was originally planned to open on May 14, 1970,[2] but was delayed due to a major tornado that struck the city on May 12. The store would eventually open on May 18, 1970 as the first Kmart in Lubbock, the 29th Kmart in Texas, and the 357th Kmart overall.[3] The store ultimately closed on July 9, 1995, when it was replaced by Kmart #4972.[4][5]
