Kmart #4354 was a Kmart discount department store located at Kmart Plaza, 6701 University Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.[1] The store was originally planned to open on May 14, 1970,[2] but was delayed due to a major tornado that struck the city on May 12.[3] The store would eventually open on May 18, 1970 as the first Kmart in Lubbock, the 29th Kmart in Texas, and the 357th Kmart overall.[4] The store ultimately closed on July 9, 1995, when it was replaced by Kmart #4972.[5][6]
